Silk Way Rally on China Investment Fair in Beijing

Silk Way Rally Organization Committee took part in the 8 th China Overseas Investment Fair (COIFair-2016), held on October 20-21 in Beijing Exhibition Centre. The most interesting international investment projects were presented on the Fair, which this year introduced to its guests Silk Way Rally and gave them opportunity to discuss competition held in July and learn future plans of Rally Directorate.

Silk Way Rally Development Director Mr.Bulat Yanborisov gave a speech in the framework of Investment Fair. He pointed out that race of 2016 became a linking bridge between Russia and China. “I’m honored to introduce you the rally that is more than just a sport event, — said Mr. Yanborisov. — The idea of project is based on the concept “One belt — one road”, proposed by the Chairman of People’s Republic of China Xi Jinping. By taking off from Moscow and finishing in Beijing, Silk Way Rally reflected the idea of this concept and opened a new chapter in the history of Ancient Silk Road”.

Silk Way Rally Media Director in China Kathy Li was another speaker on this presentation. She introduced the process of cooperation with media before and during the race and also emphasized the high-level of rally organization. “Due to state level support, sport and especially automotive sport in China develops rapidly last years. The best world teams participated Silk Way Rally, and the most experienced field specialists were responsible for its organization: as a result rally garnered media support worldwide, — said Kathy Li. — We became a reliable partner for our colleagues in many countries. Now we are targeted on organizing the best rally in the world and strengthening the position of major sporting brand, which unites China and Russia”.

In 2016 Silk Way Rally crossed the lands of Europe and Asia: more than 100 crews travelled from Moscow to Beijing through Russian fields, Kazakh steppes and Gobi desert. Cyril Despres and David Castera of Peugeot became winners in Cars category, and Airat Mardeev, Aydar Belyaev and Dmitry Svistunov took the first place in Trucks. The next edition of Silk Way Rally will also be held in July, and details of racing route will be announced soon.
